Research Statement

The Carter group is presently involved in three lines of research. At UConn we are using a combination of AFM and VLM to study surfaces of ceramic materials, and the materials science of additive manufacturing. At CINT (Sandia National Labs) we are very involved in applying in-situ and operando techniques to study lithiation, deformation and phase transformations in ceramic materials and metals.
